The Hamumu Arts Collective
Founded in 2008 by George Melas Taylor and Craig Jacobrown that is managed and run by a non-profit organization comprised of a majority of Northwest Native First Nations Artists. The Collective was formed to integrate strong traditional NW Native story, song, dance, sculptural and two dimensional forms with the aesthetic and technical production values of modern mask and puppet theater. George is the director and lead singer of the ‘Lelala Dance Society’, a family of traditional singers and dancers of the Kwakwaka’wakw (Kwakiutl) Nation.

Craig Jacobrown and The Maskery has collaborated with the Lelala Dancers of British Columbia on performances featuring traditional Northwest Coast native masks and dances.

Zann and Craig are the only non-native members of the Collective Board. Another board member, Joe Ives, of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe (PGST), has been an inspiration to our organization as he has donated his time, masks, stories and enthusiasm for this ‘Natural Gifts’ film. Juanita Holtyn, the director of education at the PGST is also committed to adding educational resources to our website. Our working board is committed to adding plenty of free educational resources to our audiences.
